Dear King and Queen Mighty Tiger Community and Staff:
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year in King and Queen County Public Schools! I hope you had an opportunity to relax, recharge, and enjoy your summer break. It is truly an honor and a privilege for me to open the 2024-2025 school year as your Superintendent. One of our focuses this year is to create a safer and more secure learning environment where strong and respectful relationships can flourish. By working together, we can build momentum to launch King and Queen County Public Schools into a new era of possibilities for students, parents, and our entire community.
Another focus this year is to ensure every student attends school regularly. Chronic absenteeism negatively impacts learning to such a degree that we are recognizing it as a top priority second only to student safety. Parents and families play a huge role in promoting student attendance; teachers, administrators, and counselors can offer student support and programs to improve attendance, but parent involvement makes all the difference in ensuring regular student attendance. Together we can make school attendance a community priority so that all our students achieve success!!!
We are in our second year of our strategic plan, EMPOWER 2029, for years 2023-2029. This plan is full of goals, action steps, and measures providing direction and purpose. There is a lot of work to do in this plan, but with the support and engagement of every citizen, we can ensure our children will be the leaders of tomorrow. EMPOWER 2029 is our roadmap for the next six years, determining our action steps and decisions in fulfillment of its mission, vision, goals, objectives, and strategies. We invite you to join us to make this journey a successful one for our children. A strategic plan constructed this way provides the authority or power to its creators, which is the very definition of the word “empower.”
We are extremely excited to welcome you back for the 2024-2025 school year. Dates to remember:
